Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
Hildene is an historic home built in 1905 by President Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln's son, Robert, as a summer residence. The Welcome Center, The Museum Store, Pullman Car, Farms, House and exhibits are open year-round 9:30 to 4:30. In the winter months, the Pavilion adjacent to the Welcome Center houses cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals. Our approximately 12 miles of walking trails on the estate become ski trails with varying levels of difficulty. We offer ski and snowshoe rentals for children and adults. Please be aware that we are not a Nordic Center and most of our trails are natural and ungroomed.
Our ski season typically runs from mid-December to mid-March 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, weather permitting.
Adult Admission $23.00
Youth Admission $6.00
Ski Rental Package $15.00
Snowshoe Rental $15.00
MicroSpikes Rental $5.00
Conditions Update: Sunday, January 19, 2020 With between 4-6” of fresh snow, we've got just enough for skiing and snowshoeing! Trails are unpacked. The loop from the House to the Goat Dairy and to the Pullman car, has been tracked. There may be some exposed rocks and wet areas so use some caution. A bit breezy in the open areas, but beautiful and calm in the woods!
When conditions permit, trails are open daily 9:30 to 4:00. Everyone must check in first and purchase admission at the Welcome Center.
Parking is in the main lot adjacent to the Welcome Center. For your safety and so we can be aware that people are on the trails, everyone, including members, must sign in at the Welcome Center. Thank you!
Also, please note that we are a smoke free, idle free and pet free campus.
