use your cell phone to identify plants and animals

VT Department of Environmental Conservation

Sunday, May 31, 1:00 to 3:00. Join ECO-Americorps presenters Emily Anderson and Ryan Kincaid in a combined workshop for those nature lovers who want to learn how to use two key mapping apps: iNaturalist and iMapInvasives. Participants will learn how to use the apps so they can engage in citizen science projects. Cell phones and/or digital cameras can be used to snap and upload photos of animals and plants for members of the iNaturalist and iMapInvasives communities to identify. Using these crowd-sourced species identification apps will help in monitoring and conserving Vermont’s biodiversity. Plus, it’s fun! To register for this webinar, please contact Stephanie at stephanie@hildene.org or by calling (802) 367-7960 by Friday, May 28. She will send you the instructions on downloading these apps so that you are ready to use them for the webinar, in addition to directions on how to access the webinar securely. Suggested fees: $5 for students; $10 for members; $15 for non-members. We would be very grateful for your financial support, but if you are unable to pay, please join us anyway.
