Gilded Age Tussie-Mussie Workshop
About
Appropriate for tweens, teens and adults. This program requires registration, and does not include admission for the day.
Sunday, July 19th
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Further enrich your day with a hands-on Gilded Age experience by learning how to create a tussie-mussie using fresh flowers from Hildene, guided by Hildene Farm Co-Director Ann Ogden Hausslein. Popular in the Victorian era and into the Gilded Age, tussie-mussies — small, fragrant bouquets — were often used to convey messages through the language of flowers while also helping to mask less pleasant odors. This workshop makes a delightful addition to the Gardens of the Gilded Age program or can be enjoyed as a fun stand-alone activity. $20 for members / $25 for nonmembers, which includes all materials for your tussie-mussie. The workshop will take place in Hildene's Lincoln Hall.
