Although we love dogs, we are a pet-free campus.

Hildene’s 412 acres includes a variety of conditions (pavement, gravel, dirt, grass). Plan for some walking. The paved path from the Welcome Center to Robert and Mary’s home is a moderate incline. Special assistance trams are available from June through October.

Hildene encourages folks to take advantage of our designated picnic area located near the Welcome Center - outside food is welcomed in (carry in - carry out; or please use provided garbage and recycle receptacles). The Museum Store is also stocked with an array of cheeses, local snack foods, treats, and cold beverages.

Current guidelines allow petting of animals, although no hands/fingers in mouths. Sanitize hands before and after contact, please.

Hildene is committed to complying with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regarding barrier-free access to it’s programs, services and facilities. Visitors with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations or modifications to assist them in accessing Hildene’s programs, services, and facilities. These requests can be made by contacting our Guest Services Team or calling 800-578-1788.
