The Private Golf Cart Tour can accommodate up to 5 guests. 

Tours are offered now through October 29, at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Tours run for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, rain or shine, excluding major weather events.

Private Golf Cart Tours begin outside the Welcome Center with an overview of the 412-acre estate. The immersive journey continues with stops throughout the property, including the Pullman Railcar, Hildene Farm at the Goat Dairy, and Hildene Farm in the dene. Your private tour guide (and driver) will share stories about the Lincoln family legacy and how they lived at Hildene, as well as highlight the many ways in which our landscape functions as a living laboratory for sustainable agriculture and ecological restoration. The tour ends at the 1905 historic home and Formal Garden, where guests will embark on a self-guided tour.

Step into Hildene’s greenhouse and cutting garden for a behind-the-scenes look at how  flowers are grown, cared for, and harvested at the dene.

Begin with a guided greenhouse tour and learn about the seasonal work that supports  Hildene’s gardens. Then head into the cutting garden to select and cut flowers for a  bouquet of your own.

This hands-on add-on offers a closer connection to the gardens and the people and  practices behind them. Flower selection will vary with the season, making each visit a little  different.

Your experience includes a guided greenhouse/garden tour and the opportunity to cut  flowers for one bouquet.

Guided Tours begin with an introduction outside the house and continue into the center hall, followed by walkthrough of Robert and Mary's home. You will learn about Robert Lincoln as a family man and member of his community, and you will leave knowing more about him, his wife, Mary and their family. Tours are offered daily, at 11am and 1:00pm. It will take approximately 45 minutes.

Self-guided tours are always available and encouraged. Our docents are available at each site to answer questions.
